Which curriculum will be followed by the school?
AIS will transact the Cambridge International curriculum and follow the Cambridge Pathway i.e.,
Cambridge Early Years: Nursery to Senior KG.
Cambridge Primary Programme: Grades 1 to 5
Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme: Grades 6 to 8
IGCSE Programme: Grades 9 and 10
AS and A Level Programme: Grades 11 and 12
What will the start and end date for the Academic Year?
The Academic cycle followed will be July to May each year. For AY 2024-25, the school will start in the third week of July 2024 and end in May 2025. June and July 2025 will be the annual break.
What will be the duration of the snack and/or lunch break(s)?
Pre-Primary students will be provided a snack break and free play session of 20-minute duration.
From Grade 1 upwards, there will be two breaks during the day; short break for 15 minutes and long break for 30 minutes.
What are the safety and security measures on the school premises?
The school infrastructure and classrooms are child-friendly. The school infirmary will have a trained nurse on-premises and doctor-on-call facility. The campus is fire compliant. The school will be under 24-hour CCTV surveillance. The school perimeter is being guarded by the best security services and a stringent visitor management protocol will be followed.
Will the school provide transport service?
School-approved vendors will provide both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buses enabled with GPS and CCTV. The bus routes will be planned by the vendor in consultation with the School Administration.
Will national/regional languages be a part of the curriculum?
Hindi will be introduced in Senior KG. Spanish will be made available from Grade 3 as an optional language instead of Hindi. The State language, Marathi, will be taught from Grade 1 onwards and will be mandatory.
Can a child seek transfer from one Cambridge school to another?
Yes. All Cambridge recognised schools across the world follow a common curriculum hence transfer to another Cambridge school is always possible. However, admission to another school will be subject to the admissions policy of the school, availability of seats and alignment to the subjects that they offer.
Is the Cambridge International curriculum recognised by schools and universities India and abroad?
Cambridge qualifications are accepted and valued by leading universities and employers worldwide. The Association of Indian Universities, the organisation that awards equivalence to foreign degrees in India, has granted equivalence to Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International A Levels. This ensures smooth progression for Cambridge students who choose to study at universities in India.
What is the way forward after the completion of the IGCSE (Grade 10) Programme?
The forward path is largely dependent on the learner’s area of interest and the future course they wish to pursue. Seamless transition is possible into the ‘A’ Levels (The Advanced level) offered by Cambridge which is a continuum to the IGCSE Programme. Learners may also opt for International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or study Grade 11 in any of the colleges offering the national curriculum (CBSE, ISC, HSC or NIOS).
